Wu Ban

Wu Ban
Traditional Chinese 吳班
Simplified Chinese 吴班

Wu Ban, courtesy name Yuanxiong (元雄), was a military general of the state of Shu Han in the Three Kingdoms period. A relative of Wu Yi (吳懿), Wu Ban at one time was a close servant under Liu Zhang. During the Battle of Xiaoting against Sun Quan, Wu Ban was tasked to lead the vanguard, winning many battles along with surrounding Sun Huan at Yiling. According to the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong, during the last of Zhuge Liang's Northern Campaigns in 234, Wu Ban was killed by the Cao Wei generals Zhang Hu and Yue Lin. However, it is not recorded when or how Wu Ban died.
