Coobowie is a small town at the south-eastern tip of Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. Coobowie was proclaimed in 1875. Coobowie comes from an Aboriginal word meaning "wild fowl water".[2] At the 2006 census, Coobowie had a population of 408.[1] Coobowies current outlook is to create many new features, including a new visitor information pull in being built. "Blooms n Bakes" cafe was open at the end of 2012, providing people with healthier, or decadent food choices. The cafe also has a florist. Coobowie is an aging community, and because of this, there is a large real estate market currently, with very low prices.
