Crime in Connecticut

This article refers to the situation of crime in the state of Connecticut.

State statistics

In 2010, there were reported in Connecticut, 78,386 property crimes and 10,057 violent crimes, including 130 murders and 583 rapes.[1]

Capital punishment laws

In April 2012, Connecticut became the 17th state in the nation to abolish capital punishment. The law does not apply to those already on death row.[2]
