Malkapur (Vidhan Sabha constituency)

Malkapur Vidhan Sabha constituency (Marathi: मलकापूर विधान सभा मतदारसंघ) is one of the seven constituencies of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) located in Buldhana district.

It is a part of Raver Lok Sabha constituency in adjoining Jalgaon district along with five other assembly constituencies viz Chopda(ST), Raver, Bhusawal(SC), Jamner and Muktainagar. Hence it is not the part of Buldhana (Lok Sabha constituency) consisiting of remaining six constituencies of Buldhana districts viz Buldhana, Chikhli, Sindkhed Raja, Mehkar, Khamgaon and Jalgaon(Jamod).[1]

As of 2008, the extent of the constituency is the entire Nandura taluka and Malkapur taluka.[2]

Members of Legislative Assembly

  • 1972: Wankhade Arjun Awdhut, Bharatiya Jana Sangh (from Malkapur ( Constituency no 94 of Maharashtra State ) )[7]
  • 1978: Wankhade Arjun Awdhut, Janata Party (from Malkapur ( Constituency no 102 of Maharashtra State ) )[8]
