Vierde Klasse

The Vierde Klasse (English: Fourth Class) is the eight tier of football in the Netherlands and the sixth tier of Dutch amateur football. The league is divided into 70 division, 26 played on Saturday and 44 on Sunday.

Each division consists of 12 teams. The champions are promoted to the Derde Klasse, the teams finishing 11th and 12th are relegated to the Vijfde Klasse. Each season is divided into a number of periods (Dutch: periodes). The winner of these periods qualify for promotion playoffs, provided they finish in the top nine overall in the season. The team finishing 10th in the final rankings play relegation playoffs.
