Prior to the 97th Congress, the serial set had no official name; it was popularly known as the Congressional serial set ; The set has also been known variously as: Congressional serial set, Serial number set, Congressional edition, Congressional set, Congressional series, Congressional series of United States public documents, Congressional document series, Sheep set, Sheep bound set (owing to its distinctive sheepskin binding), and Serial set ; Includes a complete cumulation of: United States. Congress. House. Report; House document (United States. Congress. House); United States. Congress. Senate. Report; Senate document (United States. Congress. Senate); and: Treaty doc ; This is the Serial set of the Cong. documents. Serial numbers for congress prior to 86th cong see sheet shelf list in Serial Record. 86th+ SEE Entree under numbered Congress ; WITH 97th CONGRESS, Serial Number 13427. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROCESSING SERIAL SET. Sets 1 and 2 are numbered on the spine, when received. Care must be taken that they are entered accordingly. (All sets are now being received with the Serial Numbers printed on the spine. Set numbers appear at the lower portion of the spine.) In upper right-hand corner of the verso of the title page indicate serial set number and copy number. House and Senate reports. Distribute Sets 1 and 2 to the Law Library. Set 3 is marked x-copy and sent unlised to CRS-A. House and Senate documents. Distribute Sets 1 and 2 to Law Library. Set 3 is to be duped. After material is fully processed, place Law Library material on Law distribution shelf; CRS-A material in CRS bin.
